Ms Beckmann has been admitted as a lawyer since 2003. After studying law in Augsburg and Cologne, she completed her traineeship in Düsseldorf. Ms Beckmann initially worked in a law firm that was generally civil law, until she specialized in industrial property rights, in particular trademark law. Before moving to NMO she worked in the market department of a Düsseldorf patent attorney's office. Ms Beckmann advises German and foreign companies on all matters relating to trademark law and design right. This includes, in particular, the conduct of searches prior to the launch of a new product, the acquisition of trademark and design protection as well as a subsequent monitoring of the rights. The defense of these legal positions in out-of-court and judicial disputes, as well as the execution of deportation proceedings against the rights of competitors, round off their profile in these legal areas. Other fields of activity of Ms Beckmann are competition law and copyright law.
